1. Data We Collect
ScoreVault collects the following data to provide its services:
- Game logs (title, rating, review, playtime, cover image URL, etc.)
- Information we receive when you sign in with Google: your email address, name, and profile picture URL
- Information we receive when you use Sign in with Apple: your name and email address. If you choose to hide your email, we receive the private relay address issued by Apple (@privaterelay.appleid.com). The app does not display Apple users' email addresses on screen.
- A Firebase user ID (UID) issued by Firebase Authentication
- Cloud sync data stored in Firebase Firestore (only if you sign in and use sync)
- Steam / IGDB integration: public game library and achievement data fetched via the Steam API, and game information fetched from IGDB when you search by game title
- Advertising ID (IDFA on iOS, AAID on Android) — used by AdMob to serve ads. On iOS, we show the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission prompt on first launch, and use the IDFA for ad delivery only if you allow it. If you decline, no app features are restricted. You can change this permission at any time in your device's Settings app.
- Usage data (such as screen views) — collected by Firebase Analytics. It is not linked to your user ID.
- Crash reports and device information — collected by Firebase Crashlytics
Signing in is optional. All recording features work without signing in; signing in lets you use cloud sync. You can sign in with Google or Apple.
2. How We Use Your Data
Collected data is used solely for the following purposes:
- Display and manage your game play records within the app
- Sync data across multiple devices (when you sign in and use sync)
- Auto-complete game information using Steam and IGDB APIs
- Serve advertising
- Investigate bugs and improve the app
3. Data Storage
- Primary data is stored locally in an Isar Database on your device.
- Data is stored in the cloud (Firebase Firestore) only if you sign in and use sync.
- We do not provide or sell your personal information to third parties.
4. Third-Party Services
This app uses the following third-party services. Please review their respective privacy policies as well.
- Firebase (Authentication, Firestore cloud sync, Analytics, and Crashlytics) — provided by Google LLC
- Google Sign-In — provided by Google LLC
- Sign in with Apple — provided by Apple Inc.
- Steam API (Game data) — provided by Valve Corporation
- IGDB API (Game data) — provided by Twitch Interactive, Inc.
- AdMob (Advertising) — provided by Google LLC
Transfers to third parties outside Japan: The providers of the services above (Google LLC, Apple Inc., Valve Corporation and Twitch Interactive, Inc.) are based in the United States, and your data may be stored or processed on servers outside Japan, including in the United States. Only search terms are sent to Steam and IGDB; no information that identifies you is sent to them. Information on the personal information protection system of the United States is available from Japan's Personal Information Protection Commission (外国制度（アメリカ合衆国）, in Japanese). Each provider protects the data under its own privacy policy and data processing terms.
5. Your Rights
- You can delete your account within the app: go to Settings, find the ACCOUNT section, and tap "Delete account".
- Deleting your account removes the account and the data synced to the cloud.
- Data stored locally on your device is not removed when you delete your account. It is removed when you uninstall the app.
- If you haven't signed in recently, the app will ask you to sign in again before deleting. Please sign in again and then retry.
6. Policy Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time in response to legal changes or app updates. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of significant changes via in-app notice or this page. The revised policy takes effect as soon as it is posted on this page.
